Hello again! How have you been? Yes I'm back. And this time, I'm going to a moor tropical land. Brazil! The birth country of my husband. With he's help, I'm going to talk about the places to go in this beautiful country. Since it is a big country, I decided to chose 3 states to explore. The main reason of this selection, it's because I have been in 1 of them and my husband in 2.

Pernambuco

Pernambuco is a state in northeaster Brazil, in the Atlantic Ocean. Its modern capital, Recife, includes a port, the old city and the popular beach area of Boa Viagem. Along the coast, the volcanic archipelago of Fernando de Noronha has a jagged coastline, few urbanized beaches and a maritime park. South of Recife, the beach of Porto de Galinhas, protected by a reef, offers natural pools. To the north is Olinda, a colonial city set amid lush vegetation. Pernambuco extends westwards through three geographical zones: the humid coastal region, with beaches and dense forests, the driest agricultural region with vast fields and agricultural land, and, more inland, the semi-arid back lands, with huge plateaus. The rugged region encompasses the city on the waterfront of Caruaru. Rich in northeaster Brazilian culture, Caruaru is the unofficial capital of the musical genre region,  forró. The city also hosts several fairs and religious festivals, including the great Feast of St. John in June.

Accommodation

The average price of an Arbnb in this state is around 64 euros but you can find prices from 7 euros per night.

Transportation

In this subject matter, there is a lot o competition between the companies. But knowing Brazil, the most used transport its by bus (onibus in Brazilian Portuguese). My research was inconclusive, case the bus companies in Brazil don't work in the same way as in Europe where in some cities you have combine cards to go around. But I will write the main bus terminals in this state where they can help you to get at your destination. The terminals are; Terminal Rodoviário de Recife, Terminal Rodoviário De Arcoverde, Terminal Rodoviário de Barreiros, Rodoviária de Garanhuns, Terminal Rodoviário da Vitória de Santo Antão, Terminal Rodoviário de Lajedo, Terminal Rodoviário de Carpina, Terminal Rodoviário de Petrolina, Terminal Rodoviário de Caruaru, Terminal Rodoviário de Salgueiro, Terminal Rodoviário de Chã Grande, Terminal Rodoviário de Palmares, Borborema, Seja Bem Vindo A Araripina, Terminal Rodoviário de Limoeiro, Terminal Rodoviário de Rio Formoso, Terminal Rodoviário de Timbaúba, Terminal Rodoviário de Altinho, Terminal Rodoviário de Petrolândia, and finally Terminal Rodoviário de Ribeirão. You can always ask for a Taxi or an Uber in this state. In some situations it can be useful when you don't know where to go. Renting a car in Recife Airport for 5 days is around R$119,90 (which is 25 euros).

Food

Even with a big coast line and several islands, Brazil itself it's not a big fan of seafood because it is a very expensive food. But they are very well-known for its good meat! Most often livestock are raised outdoors, which makes good meat. These are top 3 typical foods in Pernambuco.

Carne de Sol

Very traditional here, Carne de Sol does not need any seasoning other than salt. She is tanned with this seasoning in the sun for a few days and with that she does not need anything other than being fried, baked on a plate or even on a barbecue. Photo by; cantinhodena

Cozido

Its made with chambaril (beef leg), jerky, bacon in chunks and calabrian sausage. Cook the meat with all the seasoning and plenty of broth, a lot of onion, tomatoes, peppers, garlic, salt, pepper, coriander, bay leaf. Some people put cumin powder and paprika. It is served with pirão, which is made with the sifted broth and thickened with cassava flour, cooked vegetables along with the meat that pick up all the flavour and white rice. Photo by; cantinhodena

Buchada

Made with the goat's guts. Not everyone likes it. The buchada takes the viscera that are chopped into very small pieces. The intestines serve to make the 'buchos' where the sarapatel (mincemeat made of viscera) is placed. The buchos are sewn and taken to the fire to arrive at the broth that later will be stirred with the flour to make the pyramid. The guts of goat are also used in this dish. It is accompanied by vegetables and white rice. Photo by; cantinhodena

Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro, the birthplace of my husband! It's a large Brazilian seaside state, famous for the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. Also known for the large "favelas" tents built on the hillsides, the exciting Carnival, with floats, extravagant costumes and sambas (typical Brazilian music). Among the sports activities, the most outstanding are volleyball on Ipanema beach and surfing. There is also sites seeing like Pedra Bonita. The sandy beaches range from Guanabara Bay to Barra, in the west, with bike paths and kiosks that sell coconut water. The Tijuca National Park is home to mountains covered with rain forest and filled with waterfalls, hiking trails and toucans. Groups of samba, forró and bossa nova make presentations in the bars of Lapa. A wonderful state that hosted the 2016 Olympic Games.

Accommodation

The average prince on arbnb in here its around 50 euros. The less expensive ones are houses with prices of 7 euros per night.

Transportation

If the visitor chooses to use buses, boats, or trains as public transport in Rio, the best way around the city of Rio de Janeiro is the Prepaid Bilhete Único Carioca, which grants discounts in case a second trip is made up to two and a half hours after the first. This prepaid card can be bought at RioCard stores, which is the company that manages these cards. If you wish to travel in Niterói, there’s a specific Bilhete Único for that city. Or if you want to visit Rio’s neighborhood cities, there’s the alternative of buying an Intercity Bilhete Único, both sold at a RioCard store. There is no unic valores for a day on these cards. All I know is, you have to charge them with a certain amount of money and used them. The public transportation have different prices. You can also call a taxi or uber (this is the safest option to go around the city). Renting a car in this state for 5 days its around 100 euros.

Biscuit Globo and Drink Mate

Not really a dish but it is the snack of the city, to go to the beach of Rio and never to have taken a Globe with Mate is not to know the carioca in its essence.
